Half a million refugees in Chad and Niger: At the global level, forced displacement hit a record high in 2015. According to the UNHCR Global Trends 2015, some 65.3 million individuals were forcibly displaced worldwide as a result of persecution, conflict, generalised violence or human rights violations.
