Attracting an always growing number of participants and high-level representatives, the Food Crisis Prevention Network (RPCA) gathered from 13-15 April 2016 some 150 participants at the OECD headquarters in Paris: representatives of Sahelian and West African governments, intergovernmental organisations, agricultural producers, civil society and private sector organisations, technical and financial partners, regional and international banks and NGOs. They validated the final results of the 2015-16 agricultural campaign and made recommendations on how to protect the most vulnerable populations. Read on

Created in 1973 following the terrible drought crisis in the Sahel, the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) is a leading actor in the fight against food and nutrition insecurity and desertification in the Sahel and beyond. Over the past 40 years, it has accumulated a large technical and scientific expertise in the field of food and nutrition security, resilience, natural resource management, climate change adaptation, access to agricultural markets and water management.
