UEMOA is harmonising the veterinary pharmaceutical legislation
The UEMOA Commission organised a regional informational and consultative meeting with the stakeholders of the veterinary drug sector from 12-14 October in Ouagadougou. This meeting was part of the process of harmonising veterinary pharmaceutical legislation in the UEMOA area. The process was started in 2007 when the UEMOA Commission established a centralised marketing authorisation (AMM) system for veterinary drugs under the Commission’s authority, which is still the only body empowered to issue marketing authorisations. The goal of this operational meeting, the third since 2010, was to take stock of how the regional certification system is working and to provide solutions to the problems that have arisen during the reform’s implementation.
